Liberating Rhonda is a Sixties coming-of-age tale featuring Rhonda and her BFF Gwen and their hormonal curiosities about guys, romance, and social and sexual relationships.
The next night after their exciting initial meeting in the Essex theater Rhonda and Marc met in the forest two blocks north and three blocks west, respectively, from their homes. She snuck out of her house through her bedroom back door across the grass and into the alley, which led to the streets.
Rhonda quickly decided she didn’t want to travel alone in the dark to meet him again. In the future she would request, and if necessary demand, Marc escort her to the forest. Sneaking around alone in the dark made her uncomfortable. She needed to assert herself, as liberated ladies do.
She wouldn’t prowl through the streets alone for anybody else but Marc. A pretty, young girl traveling at night was vulnerable to predators, both two-legged and four-legged. In addition, she also worried about being seen by a neighbor who might then tell her parents about her secret nighttime outings.
